Great experience at FHL Bica Suites

We had a 3 night Easter stay in a standard double room and it was excellent from start to finish. Great communication for arrival and check-in information, a warm welcome from Ian on reception and a spacious comfortable room. The staff here are so helpful and really go above and beyond to ensure you can make the most of your stay. Continental breakfast was great, always fresh with items continually replenished by hard working staff. Coffee and cake was available from the breakfast room 24/7 and was very welcome after a day of exploring the city. Housekeeping was thorough, the room was spotless, fluffy white towels and lovely rainfall shower. Special thanks to Israel on Reception who contacted the taxi company for us when I unfortunately left my phone in the taxi when going to a tour. To my huge relief, we had no sooner returned to Bica Suites when the taxi driver called in to return my phone. The photos online don’t do the place justice, it is an absolute gem.

What a gem of a place to stay. Reasonably prices, great location, super friendly and helpful staff, clean and comfortable and to top it off, the BEST breakfast included EVER! Highly recommend staying here. No elevators so come prepared to walk and do steps (but that is Lisbon everywhere)

Fantastic place. Smart, clean, lovely breakfast. Good value. Great breakfast and excellent staff. Steep hills around, bring good shoes. Good location for the city. Spent three lovely nights here with friends. Highly recommend for group trip

Lovely hotel situated right next to the Bica Elevator which was a joy to see from the room window. Very spacious room with a comfortable bed and soft pillows. Would like to send special thanks to the lady preparing breakfast every morning. She was very friendly and offered a very prompt service and would also like to thank Antonio who was ever so welcoming, kind and helpful at the reception.

Our flight was cancelled so we had to find somewhere very quickly and found this lovely little boutique hotel/guest house. We arrived just after 11 and went straight out for dinner. Nice person on the check in desk. When we returned we couldn’t find the air conditioner and decided there wasn’t any, so we didn’t sleep to well, It was hot and noisy with the window open. We realised where it was next morning and actually we could have asked the man on reception. The hotel was spotlessly clean and very tastefully furnished and decorated. Set in an old art gallery, we particularly liked the art work in the breakfast room. We stayed 2 nights. When we got to breakfast on the first morning, it felt quite embarrassing that the tables had all been used, and the breakfast items needed replenishing. We stood around for a while before someone came to clear the table and we had to ask for some bread etc. It seemed like they weren’t aware we we were there. We also tried to figure out how to use the coffee machine. It was a lovely breakfast however. We spent the day in Lisbon and returned to the hotel and had complimentary coffee and cake at 5pm laid out in the breakfast room, lovely. Our room had been cleaned and tidied when we returned. We had a comfortable and quiet second night and the breakfast Buffett was extremely plentiful next morning, so much choice for vegetarians. Particularly enjoyed the large bowl of fresh fruit salad. The hotel allowed us to store our bags next day which was really helpful. Really enjoyed our stay, set in a lovely old steep street. Highly recommended.
